Ahti Vänttinen is the President of the Finnish Musicians’ Union. Ahti is responsible for the overall operation of the union and its employees.
With over 30 years of experience in the union, including over 20 years as President, Ahti has accumulated expertise in various areas such as advocacy and influence in the cultural sector, copyright issues, legal aspects of work, promoting the cultural sector, and organizational activities both in Finland and internationally. Ahti’s work is guided by solution-oriented approaches, innovation, and utilizing collective knowledge within the organization. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree.
According to Ahti, almost nothing is impossible – challenges motivate him.

Ahti holds several responsibilities in the music and cultural sectors: he is on the boards of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) and the Nordic Musicians’ Union (NMU), serves as a board member and chairman of the ESES foundation, Kiinteistö Oy Pikku-Yrjö, Livelaboratorio Oy, and Livelaboratorio Tampere Oy. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of Gramex and the Music Promotion Foundation, as well as a deputy member of the SAK and Luovat ry boards.
